Hi,

I just purchased my first two hasselblad bodies (500c 500CM), and correctly loaded my film back in the 500CM, cranked to number one, 2 circles are both white, but the release button will not depress.  I would love to know if I am not doing something, or is there something else I must do.  Any advise or guidance is welcome, and MUCH appreciated! : )

Have you taken the dark slide out of the magazine?

You may want to have a look in one or two user manuals.

I did take the dark slide out, and all seems fine.

I read through the original manual (500CM), and searched posts with people who had not quite the same issues, but close issues and it was of no help.  The shutter release button works perfect without the magazine attached.  I tried the same thing on my 500C body and it is doing the same thing, release button will depress without magazine, but will not depress with the back attached.  I wasn't sure if there was a lock tab for the release button.  I have never shot with a hasselblad before, but I venture to say it must be me, since it is happening on both bodies.  Also, the magazine winds progressing through the numbers.

HI Q.G.,

I solved my problem (slide out of magazine when taking picture).  So sorry for my moronic moment!  No Excuse for such stupidity....but honestly when I mentioned this is the first time ever of using a film camera period, as you can see I was telling the truth ..... before the hassy babies it was only canon 1Ds mark III.  Now after realizing the camera's fine!!  Thanks!!!!
